Belgians better than the BH U-17 team

The U-17 team of Bosnia and Herzegovina was defeated in Rotherham from Belgium with 0:4 tonight in the second round of group C of the European Championship.

The BH team had its first chance in the 11th minute. Ajdin Hasić came in from the right and played a return kick at the edge of the penalty area to Alen Mehić, who shot just above the crossbar.

Belgium came to an advantage in the 17th minute. Amadou Mvom Onana greatly played with Yorbe Vertessen through the middle, who hit the net of Luka Kačavenda from a distance of ten meters.

The advantage of Belgium was doubled in the 29th minute. Siebe Vandermuelen passed from the right side and hit to the opposite goalpost, where Yayi Mpie was the highest in the jump. Kačavenda defended his head shot, but the referees signalled that the ball crossed the goal line and the Belgians led with 2:0.

Denil Badžak had a good chance in the 35th minutes, when he went into the opponent penalty area and undisturbed shot from the right side, but Nick Shinton managed to throw the ball into the field. In the continuation, Dragan Matković shot from about 20 meters and Shinton threw the ball into the corner.

In the 50th minute, Elmin Herić hired Malik Memišević, who sent the ball besides the goal from about fifteen meters.

Gabriel Lemoine shot from over ten meters on the right in the 63rd minute, but the ball bounced from Stefan Rankić into the net for 0:3.

Edin Mujić centred from a free kick on the right side in the 70th minute, and Memišević sent the ball by head near the goal.

The final result BH-Belgium 0:4 was set by Lemoine in the 79th minute by his shot from ten meters after Vertessen’s assistance.

The BH team will play versus the Republic of Ireland in the third round in Burton on 11th May at 14:00 h.
