The BH U-17 team defeated by Ukraine

Today in Doboj Kakanj, the cadet team of Bosnia and Herzegovina was defeated by Ukraine with 2:3 within the third round of a qualifying Group 2 for the European U-17 Championship 2019.

The Ukrainians took advantage in the 13th minute and the scorer was Heorhii Sudakov from the penalty kick. Sudakov sent a ball to Eric Shuranov in the 29th minute, who passed the ball behind the back of Nikola Ćetković for 2:0.

In the first minute of the additional time in the first half, Ajdin Jusupović passed well on the left side, hit the opposite corner of a goal of Mykyta Turbaievskyi and reduced the advantage of the Ukrainians to 2:1.

Shuranov used the misunderstanding of the BH team’s defence and the goalkeeper Ćetković in the 68th minute and scored the third goal for Ukraine.

In the 74th minute, in the penalty area of Ukraine, Amar Dedić was thrown down, and Faruk Duraković reduced the result from the penalty kick to 3:2.

A minute before the end of the match, the BH team stayed with ten players on the field, as Belmin Bobarić received the second yellow card.

After finishing the match, the head coach Zoran Erbez stated:

“Ukraine and Iceland showed in this tournament that they were quality teams. We knew they were awkward and tough opponents. We did not succeed, especially today, to match our opponent. It’s inconceivable that during the match we made so many mistakes in some simple situations. We received goals due to misunderstandings between the players. Maybe we did not deserve more, even though this was not the real face of these players today.”

In the second match of this group, Iceland won the team of Gibraltar with 8:0.

Ukraine won first place in the group with 7 points, Iceland is second with 5, and BH third with 4. Last Gibraltar did not win any points.
