History 1997.

  • The BIH National Football Team was running-up in the Dunhill Cup in Malaysia
  • BIH played the first match in qualifications against Greece in Sarajevo
  • BIH National Team participated in the Mediterranean Games in Bari, Italy and played in the Group with Croatia and Spain
  • Although it was not yet a full member of UEFA, FF BIH in Helsinki was given a voting right, and that was a signal that soon followed its admission to UEFA
  • Renewed negotiations with football officials in the rest of the country
  • Other national teams as well (young, juniors, cadets, women selections) start to participate in UEFA competitions
