Legacy
Although the rain in Prnjavor moved us indoors, it did not stop a large number of girls and boys from being part of the UEFA WU19 EURO Trophy Tour.
A sunny day, lots of children, and a fantastic atmosphere yesterday in Domaljevac.
The UEFA WU19 EURO Trophy Tour officially kicked off last week in Sarajevo, where the trophy’s journey across Bosnia and Herzegovina began on 22 April at Wilson’s Promenade, ahead of the UEFA Women’s Under-19 European Championship.
Four years after Bosnia and Herzegovina hosted the UEFA Women’s Under-17 European Championship, the tangible and measurable impact of that major sporting event is already clearly visible. The tournament held in 2022 was not only an opportunity to promote women’s football in the country, but also an important developmental milestone that left a lasting mark on youth national teams, clubs and sporting institutions. Organising the competition at a high UEFA level provided domestic football with valuable experience and significantly increased the visibility of women’s sport among the public, in the media and within local communities across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
