- FIFA and UEFA delegations on the occasions of their visits to BIH supported staging of a play-off for the BiH Champion wherein there would participate four teams from the FF BIH and two from the FF "HB". Representatives of the Entity Republika Srpska gave up play-off in the last minute without any explanation
- In the Finals in June played FC Željezničar and FC Sarajevo, and BIH Champion was FC Željezničar, winning 1:0 before 40.000 spectators
- In UEFA's Congress held in Dublin, the FF BIH was admitted to a full membership of the European Football Association
- BIH National Team was drawn for the 2000 European Championship in Netherlands and Belgium to play in Group 9 with Czech Republic, Scotland, Estonia and Faroe Islands
- Also other selections: junior and cadet, as well as women senior and junior teams, were involved in qualifications for the EC and WC. The Veterans National Football Team also played versus Portugal in Sarajevo
- FIFA's General Secretary, Joseph S.Blatter during his visit to Sarajevo toured the Olympic Stadium Koševo and stayed in the headquarters of the FF BIH. On that occasion there was arranged the match between BiH and the FIFA WORLD'S STARS TEAM scheduled for April 1999, in order to celebrate 90 year anniversary of the FF BIH
- Also the President of UEFA, Lenart Johansson visited Sarajevo. He was also briefed about activities of the FF BIH and attended the match between BiH and Czech Republic within 2000 EC Qualifications
