Most delegates’ votes, 134, received a joint candidacy of Canada, Mexico and the United States, so Mundial 2026 will be held in these North American countries. In addition to them, in the competition for the organization of the World Cup was also Morocco, for which 65 delegates voted.
The Congress also adopted: FIFA Activity Report, Financial Statement for 2017, Budget for the period 2019 to 2022, amendments to the FIFA Statutes, the Regulations governing the Implementation of the Statute and the Rules of Procedure of the Congress. There were also elections of new members of the FIFA legal bodies, the Audit and Compliance Committee, as well as the Management Board.
The Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was represented at the Congress by the president Elvedin Begić, the first vice-president Milorad Sofrenić and the general secretary Jasmin Baković.
The next FIFA Congress will be held in Paris on 5th June 2019.
