Bosnia and Herzegovina women's national "A" football team will play a friendly game against Ukraine on August 6th at the FFBIH training center in Zenica, where they've gathered today to practice. On this occasion we talked with midfielder Alisa Spahic.
How important is this match with Ukraine for our team?
"It's very important because it's an important rehearsal before the qualifying match in September. We all know how much that game means for us, so this one will be very useful test for players and the coaching staff as well."
What can we expect from the match against Ukraine score-wise?
"We'll give our best, all girls will do their jobs, but as far as the result is concerned it's a secondary goal for us."
Are you satisfied with the results achieved in the qualifiers?
"Of course I am. The match with Serbia in September is the most important of all, and if we win or play a draw, we'll end up third in the group, which would be this team's best result yet."
How much do you practice daily?
"During the preparation period we practice twice a day, and over the course of national championship we work once a day, because we have to play a game each week."
How do you spend your free time?
"I like to spend my time with friends and family, go swimming, play basketball or tennis. I rarely go out, I've devoted myself to sports and my relatives."
Have you tried some other sports?
"When I was younger, I played both basketball and football, however at the age of 14 I decided I want to play football full-time, and that's how I got here."
What's your message to the girls who want to play football or any other sport in general?
"In addition to playing football, I'm also a coach in the SFK 2000 youth academy, and I hereby invite all the girls who want to practice football to come and work on changing people's attitude about this game."
