On behalf of the coaching staff, assistant coach Igor Jankovic spoke to the press:
"Players are carrying out their duties professionally. Over the past few days we've been trying to bring them in optimal shape and prepare them for the match. From the first minute on the field, we want to show who has a better team, and start the second part of the qualifiers with a victory. At the present the victory is of utmost importance; we'll come out strong, focused and attacking. The play-offs are our goal now, and only by winning can fight for it. We'll try to make our fans happy tomorrow by scoring a lot of goals."
Amer Gojak: "I want to thank the coach for inviting me to the national team. It's an honor and pleasure to be here, and I can say that I've achieved my childhood dream. As for the atmosphere in the team, it's really good; the guys have accepted me very well and I feel like I've been here for ten years. By working hard here, I'm going to try to justify coach's invitation and trust."
Rade Krunic: "We all know that we have an easier opponent on our hands, but we have to give one hundred percent regardless of who's on the other side. We're in a slight disadvantage, but I think we have the players who can substitute the missing ones. I hope we win the game without any major problems."
Vedad Ibisevic: "This time it's a little different because we have a lot of young players in the team, but the atmosphere is very good. It's up to the young players to adapt. We have to be serious and responsible in the upcoming game, and we can't afford any unpleasant surprises. We expect Gibraltar to spoil our plans by attempting to play defense, however we shouldn't be nervous because our main goal is to win three points.
It's great that we have a lot of young attackers. Based on what I've seen during the training sessions, is that all of them can't wait to get out on the field. It doesn't matter who will play, because you can be sure that all of us will give our best. As the oldest player in the team, I'm ready to take responsibility. I hope that people will come in great numbers to supports us, despite the weaker and less attractive opponent."
