Bosnia and Herzegovina women's national "A" team will play a friendly game with Ukraine on August 6th at the FFBIH training center in Zenica. During the 2017 Euro qualifiers, Almina Hodzic defended our goal four times, and in that time only two goals were scored past her, both from England, one of the best female teams in the whole world.
Hodzic thinks they have a quality check-up ahead:
"Every game is important to us no matter if it's a friendly match or not. We're very optimistic about the match with Ukraine and we'll try to achieve a positive result even though our opponent in a strong team (currently ranked 23rd at the FIFA Women's World Rankings). Our national team is like a family, we always fight to the last minute, regardless of who's on the other side.
I'm pleased with the results we made in the qualifieres, because no BiH female football team has been so successful. Staff does a great job, and each player gives her best in order for us to be among the best European teams, and hopefully one day we reach the top. With a serious approach, work, effort and willpower, every dream can become a reality."
Hodzic won the state Championship and Cup this year with SFK 2000 Sarajevo, and she was declared the best goalkeeper in Women's Premier League:
"I'm proud to be elected the best goalkeeper in the league. It's certainly not a small thing to be the first in the country for something. I want to be among the best goalkeepers in Europe and that's my dream I'm trying to achieve. I'd like to thank everyone who believed in me and still support me, and I'll do my best in the future to win their applause and put a smile on ther faces because they deserve it"
At the end of this conversation, Almina had a message for the fans: "During the match with England, we had a great support from the full stands. I hope our fans will come in great numbers and cheer for us in the game against Ukraine."
