Waiting for the Elite Qualifying round to begin is another BIH junior team player. Today we talked with goalkeeper Goran Karacic about his favorite subject - football.
"I've started playing football at the age of seven at NK Mostar. My brothers were professional handball players, and in my free time I would act as their goalkeeper. That's how I got interested in being a football goalkeeper.
Wearing my national team colors is a very special feeling knowing you've been chosen before thousands of other players, epecially when your career moves forward. We all wear BiH emblem with pride."
His impressions of our Elite round group: "People may not know a lot about us, but we have a good team and feel like a family, we spend our time together almost 24 hours a day. We have a good chance to qualify but we'll have to fight for it from the start with Ukraine. We want to win and qualify for U-19 Euro, quality is on our side, we're in a good shape and many of us play in strong clubs."
On his role models and future: "As a boy I liked Iker Casillas, but now my role model is Manuel Neuer. I'll try to become someone else's role model as well in the future. Besides that, I'd like to play for Zrinjski's first team to strengthen my professional game because transition from junior to senior team is tough. After a while, I'd like to continue my career abroad."
