Bosnia and Herzegovina women's junior football team has started their winter training session in FFBIH training center in Zenica today, and on that occasion we talked with one of the players Marija Aleksiv from Banja Luka.
"I've been practicing football for seven years. First I got to play it with my brother and his friends, and shortly it grew on me. In the beginning, I was training in boys' team where coaches from Borac noticed me. That team has been disbanded in favor of ZFK Banja Luka.
I had the honor to play for several Bosnia and Herzegovina's national teams: WU-17, WU-19 and even A-Team. That was one of my dreams, and fortunately I managed to realize it. It's great privilege and honor to bear Bosnia and Herzegovina's emblem.
I have two training sessions each day, but even in my free time I manage to excersise in some way. In the end, I've dedicated my whole life to football and I use every free moment I have to practice it.
I think the highlight of one's sports career is when your role model is also your rival at the same time. I've managed to accomplish that in BIH Women's premier league by playing opposite of exceptional players. I love men's football as well, particularly Andrea Pirlo.
My goal is to play for some famous European football club and make a living off it."
