During a short stay in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina national "A" football team head coach Mehmed Bazdarevic talked with FFBIH leadership about his plans for the upcoming period and what's currently in coaching staff's focus.
Coach Bazdarevic explains what happened in the past few months:
"November was a long time ago when we played the match against Greece. After that, we've performed an analysis of what and how we did in the qualifying. A detailed report for each player has been made with all the relevant data. I traveled a lot, and I participated in three seminars where I had the opportunity to exchange experiences with fellow coaches. In addition to that, some of our players have already begun with the preparations or even championships. We're constantly in contact with them and keep track of their form."
Are you satisfied with BiH team members' form?
"Players who are part of the standard lineup in their clubs play very well and we're happy with their performance. However, some of them have been injured or have changed the team, so they need a lot of work and effort to get them back into shape. We want to recover those players as soon as possible so they can continue where they left off."
Are there any new, potential candidates for the "A" team?
"Pavlovic from Sampdoria has earned the right to play for the national team. There are more players on our list but I'd rather not speak about them at the moment. It's important that players such as Krunic and Cimirot justified our decision to include them in the "A" team."
Are you planning to maybe set up a friendly match the World Cup qualifiers?
"We had an idea to schedule a friendly match for players from BH Telecom Premier League. We've made some contacts and we could have something on our hands in the next fifteen days. We're still working on that and I hope that we'll be able to organize a match we intended to."
