Bosnia and Herzegovina women's senior "B" football team has gathered today at the FFBIH training center in Zenica, where they're scheduled to play a warm-up game against our Under-19 national team.
Head coach Samira Hurem: "We have to think about the future, these players are on our preliminary lineup, and they need to be here to familiarize themselves with the team and quality they need to possess in order to apply for the "A" team. This is just a taste of what awaits them in the future if they were to be chosen to be a part of the senior national team."
She commented on our "A" team's activities: "We've played well. We have one game left against Serbia, and hopefully we'll remain third in the group. We need to think ahead, there are older players that will have to be replaced eventually, there's a new team to be made. We want to qualify for the European Championship and to do that we need to have a base of high-quality individuals. We have to strengthen both "B" and "A" national teams and expand our lineups."
Because she also leads WFC SFK 2000, she commented the recent Champions League qualifying draw: "The group is tough, however there are no easy groups anymore. Women's football has been actively developing in each country. Unfortunately we weren't so lucky because the Israeli team is very good. Through a friendly match with Ukraine, we'll be able to check out the majority of our opponent's players. Our goal is to qualify for the second round, and we'll certainly work on that. It's important that we play well and improve ourselves."
The match between our "B" and "WU-19" teams begins today at 18:00 hours.
