Since Wednesday, our football staff has been preparing the national team for the upcoming match with Israel, and one of the assistant coaches, Stephane Gilli explains how they do it:
"Some of the players ended their seasons earlier, some later, meaning their shape and readiness were different. Our task is to even out players' ablilities through various excersises and training sessions. The most important of all is that no one is injured, meaning we can work on their physical and technical aspects. Players are highly motivated and dedicated to their work.
On Monday we'll begin with detailed video analysis and presentations on our opponent. We've been thinking about the match with Israel for almost three months (since friendly with Austria), and now's the time to reveal every detail we can use against them and which can give us the advantage."
He also praises our people and country: "I've been traveling a lot and worked in many countries. I love to meet new people and other cultures, and I have to say I feel great here. Everyone is friendly and helpful, and I believe that's a merit people from Bosnia and Herzegovina posess, not just because I'm a foreigner or something. Language is a barrier for now because I find it hard to learn. I hope I'll have time to improve it because closer relations with players are important for me, and on top of that I'd like to be able to understand your way of thinking and your jokes."
