First coach that lead young Bosnia and Herzegovina's football team to the European Championship is Sakib Malkocevic who talked with us today about the upcoming championship, his earlier successes, players, opponents and his expectations.

How much the European Championship means for you as a coach?

"I was a huge success, more so because I'm the first coach to lead a national team to the European Championship. It's a great honor, but also a responsibility to do well in Azerbaijan. This is a chance to further affirm our football federation and our country."

What are your favorite accomplishments so far?

"Besides three Elite Qualifying rounds, this European Championship is of course my greatest accomplisment so far. With Sloboda, I played in European qualifications three times, two times in Intertoto Cup and once in Europa League. With Sloboda's juniors I've won the national championship, and made it to BiH Cup finals twice."

How is our players' shape before the championship?

"I'm happy how ready they came for preparations, and how aware they are of the duties ahead. We still have the time to perfect everything, and I hope we'll be up to the task."

Which opponent will be the greatest challenge for our team?

"We respect each opponent, because all of them are good. However, I have to mention Germany. Right now, Germany is everyone's inspiration and motive, and it's an honor to play against such team. That should drive us forward, not hamper our game, and we should show what we can do in that match."

What are your expectations from the European Championship?

"We know we're a bit of an outsiders, and a team that comes from a smallest country. Our goal is to leave a good impression, and to represent our country as best as we can. We'll see how it goes…"
