One of the standard players in the two Under-17 European Championship qualifying rounds was Zeljeznicar's defender Amir Velic, who shared his thoughts about the upcoming championship with us:

"It's very important that we've managed to qualify for the largest and most important European football competition, because it's not easy to get among the sixteen best teams in Europe.

I've been practicing and preparing for Azerbaijan since the first day after we completed the Elite Qualifying round. I trained individually, but I also tried to correct some of the mistakes I made in the previous games so I could be completely ready for Euro."

Amir believes our team can make it to the quarter-finals: "I hope we pass the group group stage, and even go further than that."
