With yesterday's victory over Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina Women's Under-17 national football team qualified for the Elite Round for the first time ever.
"This is the sixth generation of players that I've been coaching. On several occasions we were very close to the Elite Round, and now we've finally achieved that goal. We looked upon the male cadet team as our role models, who regularly qualifies for the Elite Round, and last year they even played at the European Championship. We also wanted to achieve such results; at the tournament in Macedonia, we fought with courage and desire to win. The girls have really made an effort and deservedly qualified for the next qualifying stage."
We asked him how the newly formed women's cadet league contributes to the quality of the U-17 team: "We've always had FFBIH's support, and although this is the first cadet season, some improvements are already visible. Women's football in our country is constantly developing, and this new league will show its benefits in the coming years and it's certainly a great thing to have it."
