A member of the FF BH Committee for mediation and counselling, Dušan Bajević, with great care follows all events related to the match of our national team against Belgium on 7th October at “Grbavica”:
“Of course, I follow all the events, which is normal, because this is our most important match in these qualifications. I’m slowly packing, because I’m coming to Sarajevo soon, to watch our national team at “Grbavica” live.”
When asked if he believed we could win, Mr. Bajević said in a breath:
“We always gave the most when it was most needed. Now we are in such a situation, because we will have no correction any more. I believe that we can go back mentally after an unfortunate defeat against Cyprus. This is crucial for this match. We need to regain that victorious spirit, we must believe in ourselves and in our qualities. We all know and we are all talking about how strong Belgium is, but that’s not the way we need to go. We have to talk about our strength, about our qualities we certainly possess. In such matches we need a unity, we should all believe that we can do it, because there are many examples when we achieved victories with such an approach that we thought as impossible.”
The game of our national team against Belgium is closely followed by the entire Greek public, since their qualification to the play-off will depend on the result at “Grbavica”. Who could better convey their thoughts than “Prince of Neretva”, who is specialized in a Greek football in every sense?
“Here in Greece, all events related to our and Belgian national teams are being followed with great care. Some new information appears every day. Even they began to warn themselves that they paid too much attention to the match BH-Belgium, and that everyone forgot that Greece would also had two matches in which they had to win, and then only could hope that Belgium would help them. I think that they turned their thoughts towards us too much, because since the end of the match between Greece and Belgium, they started with calculations how they could reach the second place in the group.”
At the end of the conversation, Bajević pointed out that we all should give unselfish support to the players and the technical staff, because the biggest pressure is on them and we need to help them in dealing with this pressure:
“I believe in the head coach Baždarević. I know he will do everything to relieve players of pressure. We need to give them all support, and their task is to rise from the current situation, to believe in themselves and to believe that they can win. The most important thing is that they give their utmost, have a desire, and if this is the case, then such an approach will be rewarded.”
