Bosnia and Herzegovina national futsal team gathered last night at the hotel Park in Vogosca, and this morning they started preparing for the European Championship qualifying tournament with a training session at the Ramiz Salcin sports hall in Sarajevo.
Coach Boro Matan: "We gathered last night just after the last round of Premier Futsal League. Not all players came, but the team should be complete by tonight. Today we did a lighter workout, we'll be training twice a day until our departure for Azerbaijan on April 6th, and we'll use this period to prepare as best as we can in order to achieve a good result in Baku.
We expect a tough tournament. Azerbaijan is one of the best European teams and they're favorites in the group. Hungary is also good, they took part in the last European Championship. They are ranked ahead of us, but if we prepare the right way, we'll be able to stay competitive and qualify for the play-offs. Also we shouldn't underestimate Albania, we have to approach each game very seriously."
The most experienced team member Nijaz Mulahmetovic expects a positive result: "We'll have a complete team today. We know what to expect, a tough group. Most of us had a successful season and hopefully we'll convey that to the upcoming matches. We want to make a step forward and qualify for the play-offs at least, and if the opportunity arises to compete for the first place, we'll certainly look into it."
