Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team has gathered today at the FFBIH training center in Zenica and began with the preparations for the upcoming play-off games with Republic of Ireland.
Assistant coach Igor Jankovic and players Izet Hajrovic and Ermin Bicakcic were available for short interviews.
Jankovic: "The majority of the players and staff gathered here today, and we expect everyone to come by the end of the day. Anicic and Zec are injured and won't be able to play, however Rade Krunic came as substitute and we'll see if he will join the team or not. Staff has been here since Thursday, we carefully approached the challenge ahead in order to prepare as best as possible. It's true that Ireland also has problems with injuries and cards, but all play-offs are psychologically challenging. I only hope we don't receive a goal in the first leg. It's important to act as one on Friday and emerge victorious with our fans' help."
Hajrovic: "We have a good chance to qualify for EURO. First match is very important and if we play good and win we can go forward. It will be difficult because Ireland has a strong team and we'll have to attack them. If I get a chance to play, I'll try to use it in the best way possible."
Bicakcic: "Ireland has a certain quality, but we have to think of ourselves and the match ahead, but I'm sure we can win. I'm ready for the game, but regardless of who will play on Friday, the most important thing is to win. We've analyzed all opponents before, and we'll do the same with this one. We didn't underestimate anyone, and because of that approach we're here in the play-offs, we just have to be serious with Ireland."
