Bosnia and Herzegovina national cadet football team is preparing for the European Championship at the FFBIH training center in Zenica, which will be held in Azerbaijan on May 5th. On that occasion, coach Sakib Malkocevic and players Jasmin Celikovic, Stefan Kovac and Tomas Dadic held a press conference today and addressed the media.
Sakib Malkocevic: "We'll be preparing in Zenica for the next five days. We had to cancel a friendly match with Macedonia because we're allowed to bring only 18 players in Azerbaijan, and we couldn't risk any possible injuries. We're going to the European Championship to represent our country in the best light. It's hard to predict now what we can do out there, good opponents await us, but the Elite Round showed we can cope with anyone.
I don't know where's the limit for these guys, but they were often able to surprise us. We looked upon the success of our basketball cadet team as the guideline. The hard work is behind us, we want to do our best at this championship and try not to disappoint our country and fans."
Captain Jasmin Celikovic: "The atmosphere in the team is excellent. We're training well, and we'll do our best at the European Championship. I'm proud of the success we've made and I hope we achieve a good result in Azerbaijan."
Stefan Kovac: "We'll use this time to prepare as best as possible, because we'll play with the big teams in Baku and we have to leave a good impression. We're not afraid of anyone and we can deal with the best teams, which we've showed already in the games with Russia and Italy. This was the most successful year for me because I get to play at the European Championship with my national team, and I got to sign a professional contract with Red Star Belgrade."
Tomas Dadic: "We're in the group with Germany, which is one of the favorite teams for the championship title. The first match against Austria is our primary focus at the moment, because it's very important to start good. We all hope for the best."
