Bosnia and Herzegovina Under-19 national football has gathered today at the FFBIH training center in Zenica where they will prepare for the upcoming European Championship qualifying tournament, which will be held from Oct. 4th to Oct. 9th in Lithuania.
Coach Toni Karacic: "We started preparing for the first qualifying round. We invited 22 players, but due to Sandi Husic's injury and Mirza Mustafic's administrative problems, we won't be able to count on them in Lithuania. Few other players have their UEFA Youth League games today, but we expect them to join us tomorrow. We'll use this initial period to analyze our opponents and prepare for the tournament in order to accomplish a better result.
As for our qualifying group, Austria is a slight favorite, but Lithuania and Azerbaijan also have solid, quality teams. Each of these teams has several excellent individuals who can make a difference, but so have we. The very fact that we were seeded to the first pot with Austria puts us in the role of favorites and that needs to be justified on the field. It won't be easy, but we believe we can advance to the Elite Round of qualifying."
Our juniors will perform two training sessions tomorrow, at 10:00 and 17:00 hours.
