After the successful training camp for elite youth football players born in 2002, now it's turn for their younger colleagues from Sarajevo and Zenica-Doboj Canton to go through the same program. Boys born in 2003 have been practicing at the FFBIH training center in Zenica since last Friday. Head of the UEFA youth football development program Darko Ljubojevic is pleased with their work so far:
"After camps for young players in Mostar and Citluk, which we've organized this winter, we arrived in Zenica. I'm very pleased with how this project is developing. Just like in Herzegovina, boys are working hard here as well as coaches who took their jobs very seriously. This project will benefit our football clubs and national teams."
Besides practical work, various educational activities have been schedule for these young players. FFBIH coordinator for youth teams Murat Jaha talks about those:
"It's important for players to possess other qualities, and that's why we're striving to educate children but also coaches in order for them to implement this experience in their respective clubs. In this regard, we presented them with a code of conduct, organized lectures in English language, computer science, as well as presentations on the following topics: "Athlete's healthy diet and injury prevention", "The integrity of a player, football game, and competition" and "Rules of the game"."
Under-15 coach Zoran Erbez is working with the players:
"I'm glad to be a part of this important project which will certainly contribute to an even better work with younger national teams. Working with these boys, us coaches also have the opportunity to learn something new. Elite youth players development project certainly has a future, and it especially makes our job at U-15 team much easier, because these kids will come to our team first.“
