On this occasion, a press conference was held at the FF BH Training Centre in Zenica, where the head coach Samira Hurem and the players Envera Hasanbegović and Milena Nikolić addressed the media.
Samira Hurem thanked media representatives for their support and referred to the match with Russia:
“We have made a step forward recently, have progressed on the UEFA ranking list and we are now more expected. I am glad that this is so, because we are a national team that is progressing, learning, developing. There is a big difference between the Russian league and ours, and on one hand, it is normal to lose from them. We do a lot to progress in the game, to create chances, and so it was in the first 35 minutes of the previous game. In the second half they showed quality. People know what we did in the previous period, so we are expected to win a team like Russia, but we could not surprise a country with over 50,000 players. We need support and we will continue to work.”
Hurem expects a better game against England:
“We are now playing with the third world national team, composed of players playing in big clubs. We succeeded before to give them a good resistance. We will do our best against England and we will try to correct the mistakes we made in the last match. It is certain that the girls will be motivated, and we hope that they will be supported from the stands.”
The BH team captain, Milena Nikolić also expects for the team not to repeat the mistakes from the previous match:
“Our main goal against England is to correct the mistakes we made against Russia. We worked on it the most on training sessions. We have to be compact and we must not allow easily receiving goals. We made certain problems in the first 45 minutes to the national team that always play in big competitions. We scored a goal and made several occasions. We played openly, but the opponents were better and in the end they scored 6 goals using our mistakes. We hope that we will not repeat them against England and it is certain that all players will give their maximum.”
The goalkeeper Envera Hasanbegović points out that the team will provide its maximum:
“After a high defeat, it’s hard to get up, but we’re a team and weve worked on it. We have already done three training sessions after Russia and now we are playing against the big team. We expect to be better in tomorrow’s match. We will do our best to confront England as better as we can.”
The match BH-England is scheduled for tomorrow at 16:00 h at the FF BH Training Centre in Zenica. The entrance is free of charge.
