We talked with Ermin Bicakcic about World Cup, his role models and recollections:
What is the first World Cup you remember?
It was 2006 World Cup in Germany. I played for Stuttgart back then, and we had the opportunity to watch every game played on our stadium. That would be my first World Cup memory.
Do you remember a certain player from that World Cup?
When Portugal and Germany were playing for the third place, Cristiano Ronaldo was about 1m away from me, and I paid attention to what he was doing.
Do you have a role model?
Sergio Ramos was always my idol. I'd watch him do something, and then I would try to do that as well. From our team, I praise Spahic, he's a Bosnian after all, and I've always wanted to achieve something like him.
How long does it take to make that hairdo?
To be honest 20-30 minutes, depending on the occasion. A little bit longer for the interview, less for the match.
What did you feel when you came here?
I'm injured a bit, and I was scared I couldn't play with my team, and that was a shock at the beginning. But after some talks with the doctors here, I'm optimistic.
Thoughts about World Cup and favorite teams?
We have to stay optimistic. No one will just hand us anything, but we can do something big. Nigeria and Argentina are strong, but we have to be disciplined against Iran. We can make a big surprise, and I'm sure we will give our best. The favorites are Germany and Spain, but everything is possible in football.
