After a convincing victory against Estonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina national "A" team has successfully started the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
Football fans in our country were able to enjoy watching our guys giving their best for the national team. Captain Edin Dzeko and his teammates deserve congratulations for a job well done and for the great triumph which has delighted many fans and gave us confidence for the upcoming games against Belgium (Oct. 7th, Brussels) and Cyprus (Oct. 10th, Zenica). Five goals in the previous match suggests that our team, lead by Mehmed Bazdarevic, has a quality, skills and will to compete for the first place in our qualifying group.
A significant contribution to this triumph were the fans, who provided an exceptional support to our team in Zenica despite bad weather conditions. They once again proved their loyalty and affection, and justified the "our twelfth player" title. Therefore, the players, coaching staff and FFBIH management would like to express their sincere gratitude to all who loudly cheered for our team last night in Zenica and helped our "dragons" best their opponent.
FFBIH also extends their thanks to the sponsors, partners, and and security authorities who performed their jobs flawlessly.
Continuing the tradition, which was built with great enthusiasm by prematurely deceased mayor Husejin Smajlovic, the city of Zenica once again welcomed the national "A" team and their supporters from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina. We're confident that together we can become a part of one great team and successfully pave our way to Russia!
