The announcement of the formation of the Super League, in which the richest clubs would participate, provoked numerous reactions, not only from the sports public, but also from European politicians. They are all united in that this competition would jeopardize the original football values and deny the possibility of development and improvement of small national leagues.
“Football is for everyone, both rich and poor”, says the head coach of the BH national team, Ivaylo Petev, and continues, “and not for the money industry in which everyone will be deprived. Football is the most popular sport, because it is available to everyone and gives small clubs the opportunity to beat the big ones. We all enjoy such football, and if the motive is just earnings, then there is no beauty or challenge for both players and fans.”
UEFA has announced sanctions for Super League clubs, but also for the players of these clubs who could be prevented from playing for their national teams.
