The signing was attended by Adnan Džemidžić, FFBiH general secretary, and Zenica mayor Fuad Kasumović with his assistants.
UEFA's new stadium infrastructure regulations have set new standards for stadiums hosting Nations League matches. Therefore, certain works are required at Bilino Polje, including partial roof reconstruction, corrections on the stands, technical improvements to the scoreboard, and other necessary interventions.
Mayor Fuad Kasumović emphasized that the City of Zenica signed an agreement with FFBiH ten years ago. Now, they need to meet the necessary conditions in order to prepare the stadium for upcoming national team competitions.
“The basic agreement stipulates that the investment ratio in the Bilino Polje stadium is 51:49 (City of Zenica:FFBiH). The works must be completed by September to smoothly start the new series of international matches in Zenica. We're proud that the national football team will play and win here, and I'm grateful to FFBiH for the fair cooperation,” said mayor Kasumović.
FFBiH general secretary Adnan Džemidžić stressed that Bilino Polje stadium is the traditional home of the national team, where many games have been played.
“Our next match is scheduled for October 11th 2024, against the German selection. We must carry out the necessary technical interventions at the stadium to create ideal conditions for watching our "A" team in the upcoming UEFA Nations League cycle,” stated Džemidžić.
FFBiH general secretary expressed gratitude to mayor Fuad Kasumović and his team for their support in modernizing the Bilino Polje stadium and creating optimal conditions for national team matches.
