Juniors of Sarajevo winners of the BH Youth Cup

The U-19 team of Sarajevo won Sloboda with 2:0 at the FF BH Training Centre in Zenica today in the final match of the 2018/19 Youth Cup of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Sarajevo had the first chance in the 9th minute. Amar Jašarević made free kick from the right side and hit the opponent’s goalpost.

Sloboda returned through Armin Hodžić in the 29th minute, but Belmin Dizdarević stopped his attempt at the edge of the penalty area.

The Sarajevo midfielder Đani Salčin performed an excellent free kick from about twenty meters in the 35th minute, but hit the crossbar.

Sarajevo came to advantage in the 59th minute. Amar Sabljica shot well from over 20 meters and sent the ball behind the goalkeeper Armin Mustačević for 1:0.

The Sloboda striker Eldin Omerović shot from the right side in the 70th minute, but he was not precise.

In the 72nd minute, Salčin sent the ball from an 18-meter free kick under the wall and scored the second goal for Sarajevo.

In the 83rd minute, Ibrahim Kadrić kicked from the right side, but the goalkeeper Belmin Dizdarević bounced the ball to Asim Muratović, whose shot was blocked on the goal line by defenders of Sarajevo. That was also the last opportunity on the match.

At the end of the match, the head coach of Sarajevo, Dženan Uščuplić, stated:

“Congratulations to the players, we were better over the entire 90 minutes and we deserved to win. All this is the fruit of decent and good work. I like to work with young players and it is my pleasure when they recognise it on the pitch. We showed that we were a better team at the moment.”

The cups and medals were handed over to the finalists by the FF BH general secretary Adnan Džemidžić, the executive director of the sports sector Elmir Pilav and the member of the competition committee Mirsad Drljević.
