The Sarajevo head coach, Husref Musemić, expects an interesting two-leg match:

Široki Brijeg has a quality team, it is certain that they want to win the trophy as we do. I think we can expect two interesting matches, which, I hope, will go into a fair and correct sports spirit.”

On the road to the finals, Sarajevo was better than Velež, Rudar Kakanj, Zrinjski and Sloga from Gornje Crnjelovo.
