FFBiH Competitions Committee's Decision on the Sarajevo vs. Posušje Match

The Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Competitions Committee, during its regular meeting today, also reviewed the letter from HŠK Posušje regarding the 6th round game of the Wwin League BiH between FK Sarajevo and HŠK Posušje, played on September 14, 2024.

Article 41 of the Wwin League competition regulations defines the manner of submitting club appeals on played matches. The appeal was neither delivered within the prescribed time frame, nor submitted to the FFBiH Competitions Committee in the required form. Therefore, the FFBiH Competitions Committee finds that the letter from HŠK Posušje cannot formally be considered an appeal regarding the said match between FK Sarajevo and HŠK Posušje. In the interest of preserving the integrity of the competition, as well as for public interest in BiH, the FFBiH Competitions Committee publicly responds to the claims made in the letter from HŠK Posušje:

After reviewing the official documentation from the match, and regarding the dismissal of FK Sarajevo player Nidal Čelik, the FFBiH Competitions Committee is of the opinion that FK Sarajevo did not violate the provisions of Article 71, paragraph 1, point 3 of the Regulations on Football Competitions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, nor the provisions of Article 27, paragraph 2 of the 2024/25 Wwin League competition regulations, and has unanimously decided to register this match with the achieved result (2:2).

FK Sarajevo fulfilled all obligations in accordance with the Wwin League competition regulations, i.e., the obligation to list the minimum number of players under the age of 21 in the match report and the obligation to have the minimum number of players under the age of 21 on the field throughout the match. At the moment when no FK Sarajevo player under the age of 21 was on the field, FK Sarajevo did not violate the provisions of Article 27, paragraph 2 of the Wwin League competition regulations for the 2024/25 season, because this was caused by an act of force majeure over which FK Sarajevo had no direct influence. At the moment of Čelik's dismissal, FK Sarajevo neither had the right nor the opportunity to make a substitution, even though three players under the age of 21 were present on their bench. Therefore, the match between FK Sarajevo and HŠK Posušje is registered with the achieved result. In this case, there is no violation of the Regulations on Football Competitions of Bosnia and Herzegovina that would result in any competitive or disciplinary consequences for FK Sarajevo.
