Zrinjski took the lead in the 11^th minute. Ognjen Todorović attacked on the left side and centred, Josip Ivančić was the highest in the jump and by a head shot sent the ball into the net.

Only three minutes later, the home team equalized. André Geraldes from the right side sent the return ball on ten meters from Zrinjski’s goal to Omer Atzilia, who shot accurately for 1:1.

APOEL reversed the result in the 26^th minute. After a corner from the right side, Atdhe Nuhiu surpassed the defence of Mostar in jump and scored with his head for 2:1.

Damir Zlomislić sent the ball with his head from the edge of the penalty area to Nemnanja Bilbija in the 69^th minute, who managed very well next to the APOEL defence and scored the second goal for Zrinjski.

After 30 minutes of extra time, there were no goals and the penalty shots started, when the Cypriots won 4:2.

Miloš Filipovic and Miljan Govedarica scored for Zrinjski from the penalty spot, while the shots of Luis Ibanez and Nemanja Bilbija were defended by APOEL goalkeeper Miguel Silva.
