The first serious chance came in the 4' when Agon Elezi shot and the ball deflected off a Zrinjski defender onto the crossbar. Zrinjski responded in the 16' when Karlo Abramović shot from the edge of the box, but Sarajevo keeper Ivan Banić was well positioned. In the 22' Luka Menalo tried from an angle but sent the ball over. Ten minutes later, Matej Šakota took a free kick, but Slobodan Jakovljević didn’t connect well with his header. In the last minute of the first half, Adem Ljajić assisted Menalo, but again he wasn’t precise.
The first chance in the second half came in the 59' when Mario Ćuže headed wide after Marko Vranković’s cross. In the 65' Dan Lagumdžija shot well, but Sarajevo’s keeper reacted well again. With no further major chances, the match went to penalties.
For Zrinjski, successful penalty takers were Nemanja Bilbija, Antonio Ilić, Petar Mamić, and Dan Lagumdžija, while Stefan Ristovski scored for Sarajevo. Zrinjski keeper Goran Karačić saved attempts from Slavko Bralić and Luka Menalo.
