The Bulgarians took the lead in the 6^th minute. Božidar Petrov crossed from the left side to the second post where Steven Gerard Gaote reacted perfectly and sent the ball behind Mladen Jurkas.

Admir Raščić’s team equalized the score in the 31^st minute. Jusuf Terzić broke free from his guards on the left side and sent the ball into the penalty area, and Dragan Pejić headed a goal for 1:1.

The score did not change in the second half, and Bulgaria ended the match with 10 players, because Gaote received a second yellow card in the 84^th minute.
