BH juniors defeated in the first match

The first of two scheduled friendly matches between the junior national teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia was played today at the FF BH Training Centre in Zenica, and the guests won 0:1.

The first half passed in an equal game between the two penalty areas, where neither team created an opportunity to score.

In the 2nd minute of continuation, the guests were the first to threaten, but after a cross from the left, Uroš Kabić caught the ball badly with his head in the five-meter and it went next to the goal. The same player had a chance in the 54th minute, when he entered the penalty area of ​​the BH team diagonally from the left side, and the goalkeeper of the BH national team, Nikola Pušić, ran out in time and blocked Kabić’s shot.

Serbia gained the advantage in the 81st minute. After a corner from the left, Mihajlo Ivanović managed best in the penalty area and scored a goal for 0:1.

The national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina was closest to equalizing in the 87th minute, when Antonio Prskalo tried from a free kick from about 25 meters, but the ball went next to the goal.

After the match, the head coach Ivica Barbarić stated:

“This is our first gathering with the generation born in 2004 and, honestly, we are just getting to know each other. On the one hand, I can’t be dissatisfied with the game shown, but on the other hand, we can’t be satisfied with the defeat. We wanted to win and I have nothing to complain about the guys, because they fought the whole match. We will try to fix some things and look towards the next match.”

The second match of these national teams is scheduled for 22nd April at 12:00 h.
