Netherlands-Bosnia and Herzegovina 3:1

Excellent conditions for preparations in the Zenica Training Camp

The U-21 national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina this morning did the second training session as part of the preparations that take place in the FF BH Training Centre in Zenica.

Assistant coach in our young team, Haris Alihodžić, is satisfied with the conditions in which the work takes place:

“We are doing the preparations in the excellent conditions offered by the Training Centre in Zenica. We have everything we need for normal work. Considering that we from the technical staff are also new here, we will need some time to get to know the players. However, the results achieved by these national team players tell us that there is potential and material for progress in the young national team.”

Alihodžić used to defend the colours of the “A” national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a player, and now he is again part of a national team in a new role.

“It means a lot to me that as a coach I am part of a national team. As a player, I participated in the qualification cycle in which our national team played unforgettable matches against Portugal and Denmark. It will always be etched in my memory. That generation was very close to qualifying for the big competition. It is a great honour for me that I was a member of the national team of my country and that I am now a member of the technical staff of the young national team. I believe that this group of coaches, together with the talented players we have at our disposal, will justify expectations and that we will make good results”, said Haris Alihodžić.

Goalkeeper Vladan Kovačević says about the preparations:

“It’s always a wonderful feeling when I come to the camp with my teammates. I am glad that we are together again and now it is up to us to show ourselves to the head coach, to see what shape we are in and how ready we are. As for the new technical staff, I have known the head caoch Slobodan Starčević from before, and I am just getting to know the other coaches. The first impressions are great and I am sure that everything will be at a high level and that we will cooperate very well.”

Petar Bojo expects the team to show quality when the qualifications continue:

“I am glad that we have gathered again and that we are motivated to work. The first two trainings went in the best order and I hope that we will continue like that. This team has quality and when players from abroad join us, we will have a respectable team that can do a lot in the continuation of the qualifications. The new technical staff also brought some new things in the work. It’s interesting and I’m sure we will continue to provide quality games as before.”
