Under the guidance of coach Igor Janković, the team performed one training session yesterday and two sessions today.
The coach expects the team to put up a good performance in the upcoming match: "The motivation to win stems from wearing the national team jersey. Our triumph in Cyprus marked our return to competition for major tournament qualification. We're moving forward step by step, aware of the risks ahead of us. Although we're facing some challenges in terms of lineup due to injuries and the absence of some players who have joined other national teams, this doesn't discourage us. On the contrary, it gives us additional strength and motivation to deliver an outstanding performance. Today, we'll have some info about the condition of our players after receiving medical reports and undergoing additional examinations."
Janković further added: "We've thoroughly analyzed our opponent, with whom we've played two games in the past year and a half. We're familiar with their style, and it's difficult for either side to surprise the other. It's important for us to remain focused throughout the entire match and to stick to the strategies we develop this week. Slovenia has a balanced team with a good coach, who is also my friend, and numerous players who are active in foreign clubs and have good playing time. All parts of their team boast serious quality, which can be seen in their results at the national team level, but they are also vulnerable like any other team. Our focus is solely on ourselves; we'll try to play as best as possible because a positive result puts us back in contention for Euro qualifiers."
The match is scheduled for March 22nd at 18:00 at the "Fazanerija" Stadium in Murska Sobota.
