France-Bosnia and Herzegovina 1:1

No goals in the first match

The first of two scheduled friendly matches of the pioneer, U-15 national teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia was played today in Zenica, and ended in a draw 0:0.

The BH team had the first opportunity in the 2nd minute, when Andrej Subotić went alone to the opponent‘s goal diagonally from the left side, but he sent the ball next to the goal.

The guests had the next opportunity in the 28th minute, when Mihajlo Cvetković ran out alone in front of the BH goal, but Adel Duškaj defended his shot.

In the second half, the guests had their first serious attempt in the 59th minute, when Lazar Jovanović sent the ball over the goal from a free kick from twenty meters.

The BH national team had two great opportunities in the 68th minute. First, a shot of Darije Markočević from 15 meters was defended by the goalkeeper Viktor Erić, and in the continuation of the action, Rijad Kasumović sent the ball next to the goal from the edge of the penalty area.

After the match, the head coach of the BH team, Igor Janković, stated:

“I recently took over the national team and we did the first selection. It can be seen that there is a lot of quality in our ranks, and that we are playing better and better from game to game. Serbia has a very good team and this draw is not a bad result. We look forward to the huge engagement of the boys and their desire to progress. They quickly adopt everything we tell them and I’m sure these guys will provide even better games.”

Janković also commented on the games of our pioneers at the recently concluded “Vlatko Marković” tournament in Croatia:

“We gathered just before the start of the tournament and in the first round we had an excellent national team of Russia as an opponent, which was a much more ready and well-coordinated team. We didn’t play badly despite the defeat. In the second match against Lithuania, we dominated, but we did not use the chances. The ratio in shots was 24:1 in our favour and we outplayed them in all segments of the game, and they won with a goal from the penalty spot. After that, in difficult matches against Albania and Bulgaria, we showed quality and achieved victories. All in all, it was a significant experience for this team.”

These national teams will play another match in the Zenica Training Camp on 20th May at 11:00 h.
