Talented goalkeepers in the U-21 team

The U-21 team of Bosnia and Herzegovina is already the third day at the FF BH Training Centre in Zenica, preparing for the friendly match with Malta.

The goalkeeper coach Danimir Milkanović says about preparations:

“Everything runs the way we planned. The guys are doing great and the atmosphere in the team is positive. New players are slowly fitting and familiar with our way of working. The upcoming match will help us to more readily deal with the qualifying matches, but also to expand the candidate base for the U-21 team.”

On the list of the head coach Vinko Marinović for the match with Malta, there are two goalkeepers, Kenan Topolović from Borac and Adnan Kanurić from Stoke City. Milkanović thinks that there is a bright future ahead of them:

“We invited two very talented goalkeepers. Kanurić is younger, but he will surely strengthen the competition. With Vladan Kovačević, who is now in the “A” team, we have quality young goalkeepers and we will not have problems with this position in the future.”

Topolović wants a debut against Malta:

“We are a good team and I’m happy to be part of the U-21 team. I got an invitation for the match with Moldova too. I did not play at that time, but it meant much to me that I was there. I hope that I will have the opportunity to debut against Malta. This is a good generation of players and despite the fact that tough opponents expect us in the qualifications, I believe that we can make problems to many of them and make a big result.”

Neither Kanurić hides his pleasure because of the invitation to the team:

“I am invited to the U-21 team for the first time and it’s a dream come true for me. I am grateful to the head coach who gave me the opportunity to prove myself here. It was easy for me to fit in, as I know most of the players from before. I must point out that the atmosphere is excellent and it’s really nice to be in this team.”
