U-16 national team players Better than Lithuania

The U-16 national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina defeated today in the BH FF Training Centre in Zenica the appropriate team of Lithuania with 4:0 in the second round of UEFA Development Tournament.

During the first half, the BH team had a field initiative and the focus of the game was on half of the opponents. Already in the 13th minute, after a great action, Dženan Šabić from the left sent the ball to the five-meter area for Aleksa Popović, who was accurate for 1:0.

Šabić took the corner kick from the right side in the 38th minute, and the highest in the jump was Marko Brekalo, who scored the second goal for Bosnia and Herzegovina. After an excellent pass from Adrian Rizvić, Brekalo scored a goal for 3:0 in the 45th minute with a precise shot from the left side.

A similar game was seen in the second half, and the fourth goal for Nermin Šabić’s team was scored by Nedim Keranović in the 75th minute when he used recklessness in the Lithuanian defence and hit the net from about 12 meters for the final 4:0.

The BH team played with the following line-up: Adel Duškaj, Dženan Šabić, Filip Taraba (71st, Rijad Čohodar), Haris Jogunović, Nidal Čelik (71st, Kenan Hrštić), Marko Brekalo, Anes Špago (46th, Miloš Bajić), Adrijano Rizvić (60th, Marko Begić), Aleksa Popović (60th, Nedim Keranović), Roko Šilić, Pavle Đajić (60th Kerim Hujić).

After the match, the head coach Nermin Šabić said:

“After the first round, when our opponent was not equal, where we dominated in all segments of the game and won 9:1, today we still had a more demanding task. We played with a lot more intensity, especially the first half where we completely controlled the game. Quality flow of the ball, good actions, security in defence and that is certainly the best half that this team has played. We are also satisfied with the game in the continuation, we gave everyone playing minutes, we managed to score another goal and we deservedly won.”

In the second match of the group, Montenegro beat Guyana 7:0. After two rounds, BH and Montenegro have 6 points each, while Lithuania and Guyana have 0 points.

The third round is scheduled for Sunday, when Lithuania-Guyana (12:00 h, FC Mladost Doboj-Kakanj Stadium) and Montenegro-Bosnia and Herzegovina (14:00 h, BH FF TC Zenica) will play.
