The visitors had the first chance in the 6th minute when Medo Juković took a shot from the edge of the penalty area, but he wasn’t precise. Our team took the lead in the 20th minute thanks to a great long-range strike by Amar Milak. Just five minutes later, Montenegro equalized via Balša Mrvaljević.
In the second half, Bosnia and Herzegovina regained the lead in the 48th minute. Kerim Alajbegović shook off his marker on the right side of the opponent’s penalty area and made a precise shot into the far corner for 2:1. In the 58th minute, Balša Vukotić sent a cutback from the right, finding Aleksa Četković, who scored from about ten meters out, leveling the score. The visitors completed the comeback in the 65th minute, with captain Viktor Đukanović converting a penalty.
The young Dragons had a golden opportunity to equalize in stoppage time, but Irfan Ramić’s shot from around 20 meters out went just over the crossbar.
After the match, head coach Vinko Marinović said: “I want to congratulate Montenegro on this victory. We didn’t play well today, we entered the match without energy. There were moments where we kind of executed our game plan and had opportunities. These two tough tests helped us assess our team.”
