U-21 Team Triumphs Over Bulgaria

Bosnia and Herzegovina's national under-21 team defeated Bulgaria 1:0 today in a friendly match at the Grbavica Stadium in Sarajevo.
 
 
Our team took the lead in the 16' when Muamer Hamzić delivered a precise pass from the left into the penalty area, allowing Tarik Šikalo to score. In the 24', Hamza Jaganjac attempted a shot from the edge of the box, but Bulgarian goalkeeper Aleks Bozhev made an excellent save. Bulgaria responded in the 32', with Kolojan Kostov heading Nikola Iliev’s corner just wide.
 
In the second half, substitute Robert Raychev had a strong shot saved by Tarik Karić. In the 72', Iliev’s attempt from a promising position was stopped by Karić again. Irfan Ramić had a great opportunity in the 77', but Bozhev deflected the ball for a corner. The visitors ended the match with 10 players after Martin Georgiev received a second yellow card in the 88'. One minute later, Albin Omić missed a fantastic opportunity from five meters, but Bozhev secured the ball.
 
After the match, coach Vinko Marinović said: "I congratulate the players on the victory. They were disciplined and carried out what we asked of them. We created several chances and can be satisfied with how the team performed today against Bulgaria."
