We tactically played badly

After tonight’s defeat of the Bosnia and Herzegovina's U-17 team in Rotherham in the second round of group C of the European Championship, the head coach Zoran Erbez stated:

“We played a bad game. We knew that Belgium had a good, solid and compact team, which they showed today. Tactically, we did bad things, especially when we were taking the ball. Belgium was better, congratulations to them. Not everything is lost yet; we will work in the next two days with the team to be adequately prepared for the match with the Republic of Ireland. We still believe that we have the quality to go to the quarterfinals.”

Erbez says about the team of Ireland:

“We watched their matches. They are far more aggressive than the Belgians, but nevertheless I believe that we will be mainly in charge. Depending on how we position ourselves both in the defensive and offensive part, and if we do everything properly, I believe that we will not have problems.”

The match with Belgium was also commented by the team player Andrej Đokanović:

“We received cheap goals and we had to play better. We have another chance against Ireland to correct all of this and be qualified to the next round. They are also a solid and fast team, but we hope for a good result after today’s bad match.”

In the second group match, the Republic of Ireland won Denmark 1:0 today.

In the ranking table after two rounds, Belgium takes the first place with 6 points, while the Republic of Ireland and Bosnia and Herzegovina have 3. The last is Denmark without points.

To qualify for the quarter-finals of the EURO, the BH team needs a victory against the Republic of Ireland.
