Young Dragons for the first time together with the new technical staff

The U-21 national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina gathered today at the FF BH Training Centre in Zenica, for the first time led by a new technical staff with a head coach Slobodan Starčević and assistant coaches Haris Alihodžić, Mario Ivanković and Zoran Sofrenić.

“We are very happy that we have finally gathered, because the national team’s actions and qualifying matches, planned for March, were postponed. Now we have finally started preparations for the important matches that are ahead of us. I am sure that the players from domestic clubs, that we have now invited, will show themselves in the best way and that we will make good use of this period of preparations in Zenica”, says Slobodan Starčević and continues:

“We have made such a plan that we will introduce the players to our model of the game in these preparations and what we expect from them in the qualifications. In terms of physical effort, the preparations will not be too intense, but we will work to create a good team spirit that will bring us results in the future.”

Defender Besim Šerbečić also lacked national team’s gatherings:

“We all wanted football, especially national team’s football, and we are glad to be together again in our base – Zenica Training Centre. We came here with a lot of enthusiasm, desire and motivation. We are ready to work and get acquainted with the new technical staff. I went through the introductory week of preparations in my club, and during the break we worked according to the instructions of the fitness coaches, so we have come to these preparations in solid shape.”

Midfielder Vladan Danilović believes that these preparations will be very useful for the national team:

“We haven’t got together for a long time and it’s nice to see our teammates again. We are all here to show ourselves to the new technical staff and head coach Slobodan Starčević. This will be a good introduction to the obligations that will await us later in the qualifications. Because of the break and everything that was happening, we are certainly not at the level we would otherwise be at. However, we are working and it will get better very soon. Until the competitive matches, we will all be in the condition we should be in.”

On the first day of preparations, the young national team players did one training session.
