The head coach Slobodan Starčević says about this gathering:
“Our basic idea was to give a chance to young players who made good results with the U-19 national team, to gain insight into their capabilities and see how much we can count on them in the coming period. Of course, we kept the skeleton of the team that has played in the qualifications so far, so that the new players can get used to our work and what awaits them in the U-21 team.”
Starčević also commented on the next opponent:
“We have a difficult task ahead of us against the Republic of Ireland, which has a quality team. Our desire is to play as well as possible and achieve a positive result. It will be difficult, but we have five days to prepare for what awaits us on our visit in Dublin. After the match with Ireland, we will have two friendly matches with Northern Macedonia, where we will give a chance to younger players that we will be able to count on in the next qualifiers.”
The young national team players will prepare in Sarajevo until 1st June, when they travel to Dublin.
