Convincing Win for the Women's “A” Team

Bosnia and Herzegovina’s women’s national “A” football team beat Liechtenstein 6:0 away in Vaduz today, in the Round 4 game of Group C1 qualifiers for the 2027 FIFA World Cup.

Already in the early phase of the match our team had a three-goal lead, with goals from Milena Nikolić in the 5', Selma Kapetanović in the 6', and Marija Ana Milinković in the 9'. After that Selver Hodžić’s players continued with offensive play, and captain Nikolić with goals in the 24' and 35' completed her hat-trick for a commanding 0:5 in favor of BiH.

They dominated the second half as well, with the sixth goal coming in 64' when, after a cross from Sofija Krajšumović on the right, Emina Ekić sent the ball into Liechtenstein’s net.

After the match, head coach Selver Hodžić said: “ Congratulations to the girls on a very serious approach and a big win. From the start we imposed our rhythm and settled the outcome in the first half, which allowed us to calmly control the game after the break. I’m pleased with the efficiency and number of goals, but also with the discipline throughout all 90 minutes. Now we turn to the June matches, where tougher challenges await, and we need to keep this level of focus and energy.”

In the other group match, Estonia beat Lithuania 2:1. Bosnia and Herzegovina moved back to the top with 9 points, ahead of Estonia and Lithuania on 7 each, while Liechtenstein remain without points.

Qualifying continues on June 5 and 9, when our team will face Lithuania at home and Estonia away.
