Defeat against Wales

The “A” women’s national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina was defeated in Swanseau tonight by Wales with 0:1 in a qualifying match for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019.

The first chance had the BH team. Milena Nikolić had a try with a head kick in the 15th minute after a pass of Aida Hadžić, but the Welsh defenders managed to get the ball into the field.

In the 23rd minute, Merima Medić kicked from the distance, and Laura O’Sullivan defended that attempt.

The Welsh team had a good chance in the 40th minute, when Kayleigh Green, after a centre-shot of Rhiannon Roberts, was not precise with her head kick from five meters.

In the last minute of the first half, Jessica Fishlock walked past her guard and entered the penalty area of the BH team and shot undisturbed from a distance of ten meters, but Envera Hasanbegović intervened greatly.

The home team started the second half more offensive, but they missed a great chance in the 55th minute. Melisa Hasanbegović made a foul in the penalty area over Helen Ward who also was a penalty shooter, but on the goal of the BH team, Envera Hasanbegović was at the height of the task.

The Welshwomen came to advantage in the 62nd minute, when Kayleigh Green was the most successful in the crowd in the penalty area of our national team, and shot from the left side into the nearer corner of the goal of E. Hasanbegović for 1:0.

Wales missed a good opportunity in the 86th minute, when the BH goalkeeper once again intervened well after Rhiannon Roberts’ attempt by head from just five meters. It was also the last opportunity on the match.
