Difficult, but well-deserved victory

The women’s “A” national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina defeated Azerbaijan today with 1:0 in a very demanding match.

The head coach Samira Hurem said after the match:

“It was difficult, but we expected it. The opponent played as we expected, making destruction on the pitch and keeping time. Our team is young and it is very difficult to play without captain Milena Nikolić. When she entered the game, she confirmed her high class and I am glad we won. Congratulations to the players, they worked hard and deserved this victory. Now we need peace to concentrate on the next match.”

Hurem also referred to the next match with Montenegro:

“It will be another difficult match, because they are also in the game for the play-off, they have quality and they play on their field. We have to prepare well for that match. I believe that the captain will be ready to start from the first minute, because with her, this team looks completely different.”

Milena Nikolić brought 3 points to the She-Dragons with a goal in the additional time. The captain also commented on the match:

“We deservedly won. We created opportunities, but we did not use them. The opposing goalkeeper also intervened excellently on several occasions. Commitment on the pitch and the struggle of the whole team ultimately brought the result. Now we have to rest and get ready for Montenegro, because it is another important match for us in the fight for the play-off.”
