Head coach Samira Hurem says about the upcoming matches of the “A” team:
“We can say that we start the qualifications with, conditionally speaking, easier opponents from our group, although today there are no teams against which you can only score points in advance. Montenegro has been playing very well lately. As for Malta, we played with them in the last qualifiers where we achieved a 3:2 victory, which tells us that we must not underestimate them. We want to start qualifications with points. I hope we will all be ready for the first match, and after that we will talk about Malta.”
Captain Milena Nikolić stated:
“All the players who came to this gathering are ready and in the mood to work. We will miss Marija Aleksić and Azra Hamzić, who were injured before. However, we have some new faces and younger players here. I believe that they will bring us new energy and that we will start the qualifications and get points with the younger forces. Everyone considers us favourites, but it is often the hardest to play against these “easy” opponents. We will prepare as best we can. The most important thing for us is to start well and do our best to achieve the desired results.”
Melisa Hasanbegović also expects a successful start to the qualifications:
“We played several friendly matches against Montenegro and that is a national team we know well. We expect points against them and any other result for us would be a failure. However, we must not underestimate the opponent, because they also have several very good players. If our approach is maximized, we should have no problems. Then follows a visit to Malta, which we beat in the last qualifiers, but which proved to be a very awkward team. We hope to win 6 points at the beginning of the qualifications, but we will have to do our best to succeed in our intentions.”
The match Bosnia and Herzegovina-Montenegro is scheduled for 17th September at 16:00 h at the BH FF Training Centre in Zenica and will be played without the presence of the audience. After that match, there will be a visit to Malta on 21st September 2021.
