What were the toughest challenges on your path as a professional football player?
"On my journey as a professional footballer, I've faced many challenges that shaped me as a person and an athlete. One of the hardest was dealing with the prejudices and stereotypes often associated with women’s football. From training with boys at a young age to facing misunderstandings from those around me, I had to constantly prove my worth and abilities. Also, the path to professionalism in women's football has often been thorny and uncertain, with fewer resources, support, and opportunities compared to men's football."
How do you feel when you wear the national team jersey during a game?
"I feel exceedingly proud and privileged. It’s a moment that fills me with an immense sense of responsibility and dedication. Every time I cross the field line, I carry not just my personal ambition and passion for the game but also the honor of representing my country and everyone who supported me on my journey. It’s a moment when all the obstacles and efforts I've invested in my development as an athlete make sense because I know I’m playing for something bigger than myself, for my people, my culture, and my country."
How has playing for the national team helped you advance and play for better clubs?
"Playing for the national team has been extremely beneficial in my progress as a footballer and has opened many doors to playing for better clubs. Representing my country at an international level is not only an honor but an opportunity to showcase my skills and talent on a big stage. This experience provides visibility and recognition, which often attracts the attention of higher-level clubs.”
How did you decide to move and play for Al-Ula in Saudi Arabia, and what attracted you most to this challenge?
"When I think about continuing my career and moving to a new club, the decision matures within me over time, and the offer from Saudi Arabia came at perhaps the most opportune moment. Over the past six months, I’ve been considering my options and where I want to take my career. In the end, I opted for a new challenge, a new dimension of football, and indeed, a new beginning. I feel happy and excited about this step and can’t wait to step into the new club and start another beautiful chapter in the world of football."
What advice would you give to young girls who want to pursue football?
"Be brave, persistent, and believe in yourself. Don’t let stereotypes or prejudices discourage you. Work hard, enjoy the game, and never give up on your dreams. It’s important to put yourself first and not care about the opinions of others.”
